Getting a tattoo in Seoul is more than just getting inked — it is a complete experience. World-class artistry, a city full of culture and food, and a permanent piece of art that connects you to one of Asia's most dynamic cities. The Yongsan studio sits close to Itaewon, the Han River, and Namsan Tower, making it easy to build a full Seoul day around your tattoo session.
The Seoul tattoo experience begins with a booking. Contact via Instagram DM (@seoultattoosalon) or KakaoTalk — full English communication throughout. Send your reference images, preferred placement, and desired dates. During peak season (July–August), booking 2–3 weeks ahead is strongly recommended. Once confirmed, you'll receive studio directions and pre-appointment instructions.
The consultation is the heart of the experience. You'll work directly with artist Ssab to refine the design, size, placement, and style. Bring reference images — the more specific, the better. English communication is available throughout, so express your vision freely without any language barrier. After the consultation, you'll receive a custom design sketch before the session.
Eat a proper meal before your appointment — low blood sugar during a session causes dizziness and affects the experience. Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the placement area. Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours beforehand. Small pieces take 1–2 hours; medium work 2–4 hours; large-scale projects require multiple sessions. The studio is fully air-conditioned and private.
Immediately after the session, your artist will cover the tattoo with a second-skin bandage or wrap. Keep it on for 24–48 hours, then gently rinse and apply fragrance-free moisturiser. While traveling in Seoul, avoid swimming pools, jjimjilbang (Korean saunas), and hot tubs for at least 2–3 weeks. On the flight home, moisturise frequently to combat cabin dryness.
The evening before your session, explore Itaewon for dinner. On the morning of your appointment, find a quiet café near Yongsan to prepare. After the session, a walk along the Han River is the perfect recovery activity — calm, scenic, and easy on the body. Namsan Tower at night offers a stunning view of the city that just gave you a piece of art. For the deepest Seoul experience, ask about the homestay option — staying in an actual Korean home near the studio, with a home-cooked breakfast on session morning.
