From Pyeongtaek Station (a short ride from Camp Humphreys), a KTX express train reaches Seoul Station in about 35–40 minutes. From the Osan area near Osan Air Base, trains from Osan or Seojeongni Station get you to Seoul Station in roughly 45–55 minutes. Yongsan is just two stops from Seoul Station — under 5 minutes. Total travel time for US military personnel heading into Seoul: well under an hour. A tattoo trip is genuinely doable on a single day off.
For a small to mid-size piece, the actual session runs 1–3 hours. Add a consultation (20–30 min) and some buffer, and a half-day is more than enough. Arrive at the studio around 11am and you can realistically be done by 3–4pm. That leaves the rest of the afternoon to explore Itaewon or grab a meal in Yongsan before heading back to base.
Walk-ins are almost never available at quality studios — reach out at least 1–2 weeks in advance with reference images and your preferred placement. Full English consultations are available, so there's no language barrier. On the day of your appointment, eat a proper meal beforehand. Low blood sugar during a session can cause lightheadedness. Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment.
Yongsan sits at a natural junction for anyone coming up from the Pyeongtaek or Osan area.
